| Slant of Light |
Emily was right. There's a certain slant of light on winter afternoons.....but not necessarily one that oppresses. However, there is heavenly hurt in everything that strikes the eye with its beauty as that experience carries with it the understanding that this beauty, like this moment, is fleeting. The sun will move and the light will be gone, but you've been present to witness this one moment.
